Why does EVERYONE need a multivitamin? A healthy diet is a great start… and that makes you steps ahead of many people already. Even with a well balanced diet, the variety of foods you would have to eat to obtain the daily recommendation for vitamins and minerals is a pretty large and diverse amount. Consuming a quality multivitamin is a fool-proof way to assure that you are getting all of those micro-nutrients lacking in even the healthiest of diets. Beyond the absurd amount of food variety you'd have to consume, micro-nutrient deficiencies are even greater due to daily stress. The 3 macro nutrients we consume require micro-nutrients, vitamins A-K to work. With that micro-nutrient deficiency caused from daily stress, the body is not as efficient at breaking down the macro-nutrients for use as fuel. Stress comes from every part of your life- work, sitting in traffic, working out, LIFE, and using stimulants- i.e COFFEE. When stress is elevated the body will break down vitamins instead of utilizing them efficiently. What to look for in a good multi vitamin? How the vitamin is packaged.. The most common multi supplement you will find is a hard-pressed wax coated tablet such as Centrum, One-a-Day, Men’s/ Women’s Health, and others like that. These hard pressed tablets are a low cost production item with low cost results. The wax coating that is on these tablets doesn’t even fully break down and the tablet that is supposed to help you with your health just ends up passing right through the system. You can see online photos of x-rays with the tablet just sitting in the small intestine. You want to find a gel-cap vitamin that is made specifically for a male or female and that contains a large variety of vitamins and minerals. A high quality multivitamin like M-Factor or M-Factor Goddess contains everything you need to achieve that daily micronutrient requirement. Even this high-quality multi-vitamin, what I would consider the best bang for your buck, is pretty inexpensive at about .60 cents a day.
